Community Support

Binaal Billa’s support team includes community support workers (CSW’s), who are passionate in ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victims-survivors of family violence and/or sexual assault receive support through trauma informed holistic case management. Support includes case management, assistance with victims’ services compensation claims, court support, internal and external referrals to support services, advocacy, access to early intervention and prevention programs. CSW’s work closely with the legal team to ensure clients are provided with appropriate legal support and advice.

Legal Services

Binaal Billa’s legal team provide quality legal services to victims of family violence. The trauma informed services provided to clients include:

  • Free legal representation

  • Legal advice

  • Court support

  • Advocacy

  • Community legal education sessions

  • Referrals to appropriate services or supports

The legal team will obtain client’s consent prior to working collaboratively with the CSW’s to ensure clients have access to holistic case management, further support and follow-up in. This ensures services are provided in a culturally competent and safe manner to assist in the best outcomes for clients.

Binaal Billa works in a domestic violence and trauma informed way and the team are focused on providing practical options to assist people to resolve their legal issues.
